Staring incredulously at the man’s back, she groaned. The blonde followed his path, heading to where she sensed the Kishin’s soul was.
“Are you trying to get killed?!” She shouted once she’d reached her destination, but was taken aback by the small crowd that appeared there.
(￥)- “I TOLD YOU NEVER TO CALL ME THAT, I-ZA-YA!” He snapped, running towards the informant. Izaya dodged, grabbing a few knives and taunting the brute.
“My, what harsh words, Shizu-chan~! And there’s a crowd too!”

At his comment, she glared. Maka was about to retort, but was cut off by his observation. Well, they definitely had to get going now.
“That’d be our cue,” She responded, turning towards the source of the frantic citizens.
(￥)- The brute ignored the girl, rushing off to the source. Turns out, it was a fight between a few gang members. In the middle of it—was his target. “Well.. if it isn’t the Flea!” A familiar face looked over, glaring at the blond.
“Hey there, Shizu-chan~” The familiar face mused. Shizuo glared, already having his rage act up. Well, the Kishin was found.

“You’re not a monster. You’re just a person,” She sneered. Maka refused to be intimidated by him. “I don’t want to fight you; we have no time. But if you want me to kick your ass, then I might be able to squeeze you in.”
(￥)- Shizuo simply smirked. “I don’t fight little girls.” He replied slyly. The brute glanced, over, hearing a few people running off in terror. “Looks like somethin’s up.”

Feeling her eyes widen, Maka took a slight step back. How did he…? Was he the one they were after? Her soul perception told her otherwise, but he’s dangerous. Silently signaling for Soul to transform, she gripped him in her hands turning to Shizuo.
“…What are you?”
(￥)- “Like I said. I’m a monster.” Shizuo placed the sign over his shoulder, giving a wild glare. “I’m Shizuo Heiwajima—the strongest man in all of Ikebukuro!”

Maka sputtered. “Brat?!” Who was he calling brats? If anything, he was being a brat for not cooperating!
“Well, we’re not running, are we? But if you want to be killed, be my guest. I already warned you.”
(￥)- Shizuo snickered, grabbing a stop sign and pulling it from the concrete. “You’re askin’ the wrong person ta run, kid.”

She inwardly groaned; why couldn’t he just listen instead of arguing?
“It’s just a precaution, which I highly suggest listening to,” She told him, eyebrows scrunching together in irritation.
(￥)- “Look, kid. I don’t take orders from little brats. You’re talking to a real monster here.” He explained, glaring at the meister. “I’m the one people run from when I’m on a rampage.”

Maka huffed. “It’s our job, too. we’re… hunting.”
She left it vague; she didn’t want to release too much information. Who knows what could happen if he knew that their job was actually to hunt down and kill a kishin soul?
“You may want to take your debt collecting out of the area,” She warned.
(￥)- “Why?” He asked grumbling. This kid seemed weird. Hunting? There wasn’t any wild game in Ikebukuro… He just stared blankly. “Not like I could get hurt or anythin’.”

Was he… apologizing? Why, though? Weren’t they the ones ‘causing trouble’? She relaxed a bit; had she wrongly interpreted him?
“It’s none of my business, but why are you out so late, sir? Shouldn’t you be at home or something?”
(￥)- “It’s my job. I’m a debt collector.” He explained. “I’m supposed to be out this late. What about you, kid? Shouldn’t you be at home with your parents and drink some milk or something?” Shizuo stared the meister and weapon down, a bit confused as to why they would ask such a thing.
